Most frequently asked questions and answers
What’s the minimum budget for a event fireworks display?
Our event fireworks shows typically start around $3500. (taxes & permit fee extra).
What is involved to obtain a permit and why?
All professional display fireworks shows require a permit regardless of the product used. ie. consumer fireworks, display fireworks or articles of pyrotechnics. The permit is reviewed by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (referred to as the AHJ) typically the local Chief Fire Prevention Officer. We submit a permit on behalf of your event that includes all necessary precautions, event planning, site map etc.
How much does a permit cost?
The permit fee varies from location to location. Each city, Municipality & Township has their own set fees laid out within their By-Laws and fee schedule. Permit fee could be anywhere between $65 to $575.
Is insurance provided?
Insurance is mandatory at any event where we provide our services regardless if it is a fireworks show, special effects, confetti, streamers or otherwise. We issue an insurance certificate on a per show basis covering $5 million in liability.
Are event fireworks customizable?
Absolutely. Each and every show is customized to the specific event and venue. Even though we have “packages”, they are not cookie cutter and not set in stone. From specific colours, effects, shell breaks or even choreographed to music (pyromusical), each and every show is unique.
How much space is required for a fireworks display?
This is specific to the product being used. It is based on the largest calibre of product to be used within the show. This is govern by Natural Resources Canada and specifically the Explosive Regulatory Devision (commonly referred to as NRCan & ERD). At a minimum on the smaller shows and depending on the site, the requirement is 80 meters (265 feet). Larger shows require up to 325m (1070 feet) to spectators or more.
How long does it take to plan and reserve an event fireworks display?
At a minimum, allow for at least 4 weeks with regards to initial consultation, site inspection, permit application processing time & design. We recommend a time frame of 3 months in advance for booking us for your event.
What other special effects can be provided at a event instead of fireworks?
Some venues and even municipalities do not support or allow the discharge of fireworks for any event. Other options we offer are our new “Holi” coloured powder air cannons, confetti & streamers, Co2 jets, animated water fountain features, venue accent lighting for both indoors and outdoors, LED dance floors and more!
